Full House Renovation
in Manassas, Virginia

Anytime you are looking at renovating your entire home – basically redoing, replacing, or remodeling EVERYTHING from top to bottom – you recognize that it’s going to be a major construction project, take a lot of time, and (inevitably) cost a pretty penny.

These kinds of projects always have a bunch of moving parts, and inevitably have some surprises that pop up along the way, obstacles that need to be overcome, and challenges that push deadlines back. That’s just the nature of the beast, so to speak.

This is why at Trusted Veterans Restoration we let our clients know that whenever they are tackling a full house renovation we need as much time as possible to get the job done right, even though we work quickly and efficiently.

Well, on this project working with homeowners out of Manassas we had to move time to get the project knocked out completely within two months – and that was a hard deadline with new tenants moving in after the old tenants moved out.

Total House Renovation…in Just Two Months?

A whole home renovation that includes plumbing and electrical work is always a bit of a circus, and the idea of trying to pull it all together in two months at first seemed a little crazy.

But we love a challenge here at Trusted Veterans and we dove in headfirst!

The homeowners were an absolute dream to work with every step of the way, with a very clear plan of action about what they wanted to be updated, what they wanted to be renovated and refreshed, what they wanted to be replaced and removed completely – and a communication style that just sort of kept everything moving really smoothly.

Even with a Couple of Surprises We Still Finished Ahead of Schedule and On Budget!

Obviously, there were surprises along the way that you’d expect anytime you start to pull walls apart and get down to the framing and the work done – with some of the setbacks threatening to slam the brakes on this project if we weren’t able to move quickly and decisively.

A lot of water damage caused by leaks weakened some of the structural components in the home, necessitating the total replacement of more than a few studs as well as the replacement of an entire front brick wall that had buckled from the water damage.

Thanks to our experts on the site, world-class craftsmen that know exactly how to diagnose these challenges right almost immediately – and understand how to fix them just as fast – here at Trusted Veterans we were able to move through these challenges without any trouble at all.

At the end of the day (and almost exactly two months after we started work) we did our final walk-through with the homeowners in Manassas, checking off the last few small items on the punch list and getting the stamp of approval we look for on all of our projects.

It was a bit of a sprint compared to the marathon that most total home renovation projects are, but looking back now it was a lot of fun to put in the time, the energy, and the effort (and to work with such dream clients) to breathe new life into this home the way we were able to.

If you’d like to tackle a whole home renovation project of your own, or just want to talk about your specific construction project here in Virginia, don’t hesitate to drop us a line as soon as you get a chance.
